Genius
Following the death of Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of the Republic of Turkey, the Polish press wrote:
"Atatürk created the new Turkey with his sword and structured it with his genius. There was no field untouched by his creative spirit and passionate patriotism."
The piece is dedicated to Atatürk’s principles, values, and creative spirit.
*"In 1938, Atatürk's coffin was placed on a gun carriage pulled by three pairs of horses. The carriage set off from Dolmabahçe and moved toward Sarayburnu. A massive crowd stood on the sidewalks and rooftops, weeping as they watched the procession.
The funeral band in the slowly advancing cortege played the second piano sonata composed by Polish composer Chopin in 1840."
